WHAT IS A CO-OP TRIP?
These trips
are organized by Alaska Kayak Academy for
the benefit of students from our classes.
The idea is to give students an opportunity
to get out on the water with support and
training at a price lower than a normal
commercially priced trip.
Sea Kayak:
Black Stone
Bay: 6/28-30 (M-W): Blackstone is the
closest tide water glacier. We are going on
Monday to avoid the week groups. We water
taxi out to Blackstone, camp one night at
the glacier, paddle to decision point for
camp 2, and finish on day 3 in Whittier.
Price: $30/day plus water taxi. Kayak rental
if you need one $80
Eshamy Bay Adventure: 7/28-8/1:
This 5 day
trip is an ADVENTURE. We depart Eshamy lodge
and paddle up Eshamy Lagoon. From there we
will pull our boats up the stream to the
Lake. Next we paddle the lake and then blaze
a trail to Paddy Bay. We finish with two
days of paddling dangerous passage back to
the lodge.
Price: $30/day plus water taxi and kayak
rental.
Whitewater:
Chickaloon
River: 7/2-5 : This is a fantastic Fly-in
River trip of class II and III rapids. With
enough people we can run a raft, IK’s, and
Pack Rafts and Whitewater kayaks. We will
start with a 2 night base camp and climb one
of the peaks at the drop off spot. Day 3 is
a braided bouncy 14 mile day down the
canyon. Day 4 finds us at the infamous Hotel
rock rapid and 15 miles of continues
whitewater. It just never stops.

Spenser Glacier: over night: 6/10, 11… (th,fri)
